The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards take place on Monday evening, with Sunday night's awards ceremony moving from its usual location to accommodate the opening week of the NFL season. Kian Thompson of "Saturday Night Live" fame is hosting the show, which is being broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
"Success" leaves the night with 25 total nominations, more than any other show, and is competing in top categories such as best drama series, winning multiple awards in the categories of outstanding lead and supporting actor and actress. "Ted Lasso" received 20 nominations, including best comedy, and "The White Lotus" was the top 20 limited series.
On the comedy side, "Abbott Elementary" creator, writer, and star Quinta Brunson became the first black woman to be nominated for three awards in the same year. She competes in the categories of Outstanding Writing, Acting and Comedy Series.
