If this continues, the position of head coaching may not be enough. Maybe Dan Quinn has bigger goals, stays in Dallas for next season, and starts a write-in campaign for President of the United States. The Cowboys quarterback has had a great start to his second season in charge.
Quinn shook things up at Big D after taking over from Mike Nolan in a footnote as defensive coordinator. Typically scoring turnovers, Dallas led the league in 2021 by a wide margin.
Finishing with 34 picks, everyone correctly predicted that there would be a second-season regression, and there was. Dallas has just two hits in three games. But all? Mamma Mia, this is as amazing as Dallas has seen it in years. He leads the NFL in sacks with 13 through three games.
Cowboys went from leading the league in turnovers in 2021 to leading the league in sacks in 2022.

Dan Quinn for president in 2024.
This is the first time the Cowboys have contested less than 20 points in three straight matches since 2017. He accomplished it twice that season and a year earlier in 2016. But never before. 2009. But there is a big difference between this group and those frequencies; Those clubs had offenses that forced their opponents in one direction. This team is not doing that, scoring only four touchdowns so far.
The three stretches prior to the single season (there was one quarter recorded at the end of 2017 and 2018), Dallas itself scored 88, 101 and 113 points, respectively. The 2022 Cowboys scored just 46 points.
That puts a lot of pressure on the defense to get the job done on every drive, and Quinn's men responded.
More to the point, those other lengths were medieval victories. The 2022 Cowboys do it right out of the gate.
In the first three weeks of the season, the Dallas Cowboys have only given up three touchdowns to its opponents, tied for the fewest touchdowns allowed through the first three games of a season in franchise history

His 13 sacks in three games put him behind the Philadelphia Eagles for the NFL lead. The 3-0 Birds were under pressure from the Walkers before Sunday when they picked up on Carson Wentz's nine-innings mess.
Quinn and his men got a shot at the longest thrower this coming Sunday. Dallas' Micah Parsons and Dorrance Armstrong are in motion for 22.5 sacks as they both turned in two two-sack performances. Late to the party, DeMarcus Lawrence is fresh from a three-sack night at 17-sack pace.
Cowboys DC Dan Quinn creates a major stress point for offenses when pairing LB Micah Parsons and DE DeMarcus Lawrence. Lawrence bouncing from a 0- to 5- to 3-technique in final five seconds presnap makes the look unfair. Parsons plowed over Giants RG Mark Glowinski on third down. pic.twitter.com/L64tscZxRd

On last week's broadcast, former Cowboys QB Tony Romo mentioned that Quinn would be Quinn's best head coaching candidate this season. The only team with a better defensive DVOA over the past two years combined is the Buffalo Bills. The way Dallas excels at the pass is different, even though it's a ridiculously expensive quarterback.
After being fired as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, Quinn took the rest of the 2020 season to rebuild himself and plans to put shots on defense in his next stop. There will certainly be strong offenses on the upcoming schedule, five games against teams currently in the top-10 at the DVOA (Philly X2, Jacksonville, Detroit, Green Bay). But the program is not difficult; Meat on the bone is high in this season.
Cowboys fans are praying to the football gods that he somehow stays married in Texas for at least one more year. If he raises his sights high enough, he has time. Hey, there were four former presidents from the Lone Star.
