FC Barcelona 7-0 Madrid CFF: Strong as ever

A match that was still tough for half an hour proved to be a major victory for the women. Graham Hansen celebrated his 100th appearance with the opening goal, but was the only one in the first half of the game to feature both goalkeepers Gemma Font and Meritxel Font on the same team.

Gemma was called upon to put her best foot forward as the Madrid CFF posed a considerable threat in the first half, and it was only after the break that the Blaugrana women really managed to shine. But wow did they shine!

Mariana Caldenti finished off a good team move by pushing off one of the posts and then Brazilian Giese Ferreira took the lead with her first touch of the ball after coming up. Soon after, he fired another shot from outside the area.

Between these two goals, Caldenti completed a spell of his own with a powerful header, and Crnogorcevic added two of his own in the final quarter to complete what was a very solid play.
