FC Copenhagen vs Manchester City: Line-up confirmed - Erling Haaland Rusted

Manchester City and FC Copenhagen have announced their official line-ups for tonight's Champions League clash, with Erling Haaland on the bench.

Manchester City are looking to register four wins out of four in the Champions League tonight.

Burgers will take on the Denmark side FC Kopenhagen tonight for the second time in as many weeks.

City fans will be hoping for a repeat of last week's game, in which they thrashed their opponents 5-0.

It was a superb performance from the hosts, with their goals courtesy of own goals from Copenhagen's Riyad Mahrez, Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland.

The Citizens completely destroyed the Dane—compared to Copenhagen's two—controlling 75% possession in the match and scoring 30 shots.

However, the Superligan side can take comfort from their opponent tonight as they are missing one of last week's strikers.

Line-ups

FC Copenhagen: Grabara; Lund Jensen, Khocholava, Boilesen; Kristensen, Stamenic, Lerager, Kristiansen; Claesson (C), Haraldsson, Daramy

Subs: Ryan, Johnsson, Ankersen, Sorensen, Diks, Bardghji, Clem, Johannesson, Mukairu

Manchester City: Ederson; Cancelo, Akanji, Laporte, Gomez; Rodri, De Bruyne, Gundogan (C), Mahrez, Alvarez, Grealish

Subs: Carson, Ortega, Ake, Wilson-Esbrand, Lewis, Dias, Silva, Haaland, Palmer, Foden

For the first time this season, Haaland fell victim to Pep Guardiola's squad rotation, which should be a relief for the Copenhagen defense.

However, Alvarez got a start at the expense of the Norwegian striker and Argentina was also on the scoresheet last time. The former River Plate man has looked extremely impressive in some of his given starts this season, so it's not exactly a 'let-off' to defend the opposition.

Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva have also been rested tonight, with Jack Grealish and Ilkay Gundogan joining the team.

In terms of defensive changes, Rubén Dias dropped Emerick Laporte from the team, while Nathan Acke was replaced by Sergio Gómez - meaning Manuel Akanji would move to the center of the defence, with Cancello occupying the right. And Gomez right.

It is no surprise to see so many changes in the squad as City take on Liverpool this weekend.

This allows Guardiola to rest many of his key players, while still fielding a team more than capable of defeating tonight's opposition.
