App State stuns Troy on last-second Hail Mary TD pass

After upsetting Texas A&M last week and hosting ESPN's College Game Day, App State was the big show in college football this Saturday.

And it looked like Troy was going to spoil the celebration by winning at Boone. That is, until hikers marvel at the ticking seconds.

Upstate quarterback Chase Bryce connected with Christian Horn on a 53-yard pass to lead the Mountaineers to a stunning 32-28 win over Troy.

Brice get into the pocket, move to the left and launch the pass as far as possible. Horn flew over the 6-yard line and ran from the tacklers to the right pylon to send the home crowd into frenzy.

The crowd stormed the field after the game-winning play to make for an exciting day of football and an even more exciting night for the home team.

Some late-game mismanagement by Troy helped seal the score. He was intentionally blocked from the 11-yard line on 4th and 1 and made it 28-26 with just 25 seconds left.

Troy coach John Sumrall then ordered a squib kick that went 13 yards to the Upstate 47-yard line.

Brice threw three incomplete passes before throwing the game-winner, capping a day the Highlanders won't soon forget.

App state went 2-1 in the year and 1-0 at the Sun Belt, which will likely show up in next week's AP Top 25 rankings.
