The state Capitol is closed to the public due to a power outage due to equipment damage, the Hawaii Department of Accounts and General Services said.
The power outage occurred on Saturday morning due to a "short circuit in one of the three high-voltage circuit breakers" in the capital, the ministry said in a press release today. “This resulted in smoldering in the circuit. The cause is unknown."
